Partnership opportunities for universities in UK and China

Published: 23/06/2017

UK NARIC has announced a new scheme for UK universities to partner with universities in China. Funding is available for staff exchanges and student orientation programmes, curriculum development and support for degrees where Chinese students spend part of their Bachelor course in the UK.

The focus of the programme is to strengthen the industrial and vocational relevance of university education in China. The UK is one of a small number of chosen partner countries for the programme and UK expertise is especially sought in course development.

The scheme is only available through UK NARIC, the UK’s National Agency that provides information and opinion on academic, vocational and professional qualifications from across the world. The scheme is entitled the International High Standard Application-Oriented Institutions Programme. It was initiated by the CSDP, China’s national agency for education development and innovation, and is supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

The Chinese institutions taking part in the project have been specially selected. The scheme is open now to applications of interest from UK institutions and enrolments to new joint degree programmes developed under the scheme are expected to commence in September 2018.
