Internal changes at the Engineering Council

Internal changes at the Engineering Council

Published: 14/06/2016

After four very busy years running the Policy and Standards team at the Engineering Council, Deborah Seddon has decided to move to a part time role, allowing her to continue leading some of the organisation’s key learning and development projects, whilst also freeing up her diary for domestic projects and travel.

Katy Turff, who was Head of International at the Engineering Council, accepted a new role to lead both the Policy and Standards function as well as continue with her international work. To help her with this, a new International Affairs Manager is being recruited. These changes took effect on 1 June. Should you need to contact Katy, whose new job title is Head of Professional Standards, her email address is kturff@engc.org.uk

Seán Hogan joined the team at the beginning of March 2016 as a Higher Education Executive. He previously worked on the Membership Team of Engineers Ireland and has experience of the professional review process for EngTech, IEng, CEng, international accreditation agreements and organising accreditation visits throughout the Republic of Ireland. Seán will provide Secretariat for Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) visits and meetings, as well as support wider activity related to Higher Education and accreditation. Other responsibilities include acting as Secretariat for the Engineering Gateways Advisory Group, input to the maintenance and development of the Academic Course Accreditation Database and a new Qualifications and Programmes Database, and liaising with universities regarding the requirements for and outcomes of EAB visits.
