BIS calling for evidence of demand for accelerated courses and switching university or degree
Published: 15/06/2016
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has published a consultation on how switching university or degree course can be made easier, and the possibility of having a greater number of accelerated degrees. BIS is calling for evidence to gauge the demand for these more flexible approaches, and to gain a better understanding of the barriers that currently prevent them from working effectively.
The Engineering Council intends to respond to the consultation, raising concerns over the possible impact of accelerated degrees on international accords and agreements, where these agreements may not recognise shortened programmes.
The Engineering Council encourages universities to respond directly to the consultation, which closes on 19 July 2016 11:45pm. To read the document and to respond, please visit https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/accelerated-courses-and-switching-university-or-degree-call-for-evidence
