As part of ‘Our Plan for Growth: Science and Innovation’ the Government confirmed £1.3 million funding for HEFCE to work with engineering professional and regulatory bodies to develop and pilot engineering conversion courses for non-STEM graduates. The Engineering Council, along with the Engineering Professors Council (EPC) and HEFCE, was involved in the planning phase for this, which included independent research into the landscape for such provision. A Transition to engineering report was published on behalf of HEFCE, the Engineering Council and the Engineering Professors’ Council to inform development and piloting of study programmes.
