We have some new joiners at the Engineering Council

The Engineering Council has welcomed three new joiners over recent months:

Rahaan Ahmed joined the Licensing team in August 2016 as a Licensing Executive to support the team in meeting its objectives. His main responsibilities include supporting Licensing reviews, contributing to the delivery of workshops, seminars and training sessions and providing administrative support to Engineering Council committees and panels when necessary. He will also provide secretariat for the Quality Assurance Committee and support the monitoring and development of registration agreements with the organisation’s Professional Affiliates. Prior to joining the Engineering Council, Rahaan worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service as an Adjudicator/Case handler. |

Dave Clark joined the Engineering Council in August 2016 as International Affairs Manager in the Professional Standards team. His previous role was as Head of International Development at the Royal Society of Chemistry, where he established offices in eight countries, including China and India, as well as managing international projects in support of publishing and membership activities. Dave has also worked extensively with government and corporate partners to establish collaborative funding, particularly for international mobility and to build up skills and networks in developing countries. Prior to this, he had nearly 20 years’ experience in the analytical instrument business, working on technical projects, business development and marketing. Dave has a PhD in Chemistry from King’s College London. At the Engineering Council, Dave is managing the international work in securing and maintaining comparable standards to ensure the international mobility of professionally registered engineers and technicians, as well as providing secretariat for the International Advisory Panel. |

Martyna Saternus joined the Engineering Council’s Facilities Department in August 2016 as Receptionist and Office Administrator. Previously she worked as a Facilities and Building Officer at the London Community Rehabilitation Company, where she was responsible for the security and maintenance of offices and ensuring that health and safety procedures were followed in all buildings used by the Probation Service. In her native Poland Martyna graduated from the University of Economic in Katowice with a Master Diploma of Economics in Transport and Logistics and gained work experience as an Account and Sales Assistant. She has been living in London since 2014. |
