We have some new joiners at the Engineering Council

The Engineering Council has welcomed three new joiners over recent months:

Zainab Fayaz joined the Marketing and Communications team in December 2015 as marketing executive and is supporting the department in delivering its marketing activities. She previously worked as a marketing executive for an open source technology company, working on a number of projects and managing the social and digital marketing for two of their four brands. Prior to this, Zainab worked at an events company marketing public sector events, particularly for the education, health, government and criminal sectors. |

Nick Ryan joined the Engineering Council in December 2015 as Database and ICT Manager. Previously he has worked at a finance services company, Imperial College London, a pharmacy robotic specialist and an audio video specialist in various roles ranging from IT Manager to Head of Research and Development. Nick has more than 20 years of software development and IT management experience along with extensive database, interface design and web skills. At the Engineering Council, he is working to ensure best practice in relation to database and IT management, as well as providing support for all technical projects and managing relationships with external suppliers. |

Seán Hogan joined the Policy and Standards team at the beginning of March 2016 as a Higher Education Executive. He previously worked on the Membership Team of Engineers Ireland and has experience of the professional review process for EngTech, IEng, CEng, international accreditation agreements and organising accreditation visits throughout the Republic of Ireland. Seán will provide Secretariat for Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) visits and meetings, as well as support wider activity related to Higher Education and accreditation. Other responsibilities include acting as Secretariat for the Engineering Gateways Advisory Group, input to the maintenance and development of the Academic Course Accreditation Database and a new Qualifications and Programmes Database, and liaising with universities regarding the requirements for and outcomes of EAB visits. |
