Engineering Council staff update

New joiners and changes at Engineering Council

The Engineering Council has welcomed some new joiners over recent months, as well as experienced some internal changes:

Lauren Moroney joined the Engineering Council in late March 2017 as Senior Licensing Executive. She previously worked at Ofgem in a compliance role for various renewable energy teams. Working with energy companies and the general public to enforce scheme regulations following audits. Prior to this she worked in buying and worked with companies to establish relationships and find new products. At the Engineering Council, Lauren’s main duties are to plan and deliver licence reviews for professional engineering institutions, monitor and report on continuing licence compliance, and contribute to the planning and delivery of seminars, workshops and training sessions for key stakeholders. 

Donna McSorley joined the Registration team in April 2017 as Registration Administrator. She is supporting the department by helping with the registration process and handling registrant queries.  She previously worked as an administrator in a journalism school, working with students and tutors.

Ana Doncic joined the Professional Standards team at the end of March 2017 as a Higher Education Executive. She previously worked as a Policy Adviser at the Electoral Commission with experience of electoral fraud, electoral legislation and accessibility for voters. Ana will provide Secretariat for Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) visits and meetings, as well as support wider activity related to Higher Education and accreditation. Other responsibilities include acting as Secretariat for the Engineering Gateways Advisory Group, input to the maintenance and development of the Academic Course Accreditation Database and a new Qualifications and Programmes Database, and liaising with universities regarding the requirements for and outcomes of EAB visits.

Ronke Oyejola, Qualifications and Programmes Executive Assistant, is now on maternity leave. Emma Fairman, who previously worked at the Engineering Council under her maiden name Emma Benjamin, has stepped into the role to cover Ronke’s leave. Emma left the Engineering Council in July 2016, having worked for three years as Executive Assistant to support the Executive Team and international activities.
