Tomorrow’s Engineers Week, which runs from 7 to 11 November 2016, shines a spotlight on engineering careers in a way that young people, and particularly girls, may have never considered before. The organisers want everyone in engineering to get involved in some way, even if it’s a simple tweet of support with #TEWeek16. Following @Tomorrows_Eng on Twitter would be a good way to start.

Do you know any engineers that go unnoticed or need a little more limelight? Nominations are being sought as part of a feature on hidden engineers, and individuals are welcome to nominate themselves. Please send a photo with the hidden engineer’s name, age, location, job title and a short description (maximum 300 characters) of their role to tew@claremontcomms.com.

Another way to get involved is by answering schoolchildren’s questions around how engineers will help to tackle social and environmental problems. The #TEWeek16 team is compiling the questions and will need help to provide responses. It may be a question around flood prevention, space travel, the global food security or on a variety of other topics. The team will use the responses to create content to share via social and traditional media during TE Week.
