In June 2016, Licensing Executive Geoff Atkins left the Engineering Council after almost four years with the organisation. A new Licensing Executive is due to join the team in the coming weeks.
At the July 2016 Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) meeting, the Committee agreed to renew five year licences for:
- The Chartered Institute of IT (BCS)
- Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA)
In addition, the Committee has approved an interim review for the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and re-approved the Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) as a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council.
Stuart Ingram joined the Licensing team in May 2016 as Senior Licensing Executive and has 10 years of experience working in professional institutions. Most recently he was Chartered Director & CPD Manager at the Institute of Directors, where his main responsibility was overseeing the application process, including professional review, for the Chartered Director qualification. At the Engineering Council, his main duties are to plan and deliver licence reviews for professional engineering institutions, monitor and report on continuing licence compliance, and contribute to the planning and delivery of seminars, workshops and training sessions for key stakeholders.
