Licensing update

Published: 24/04/2017

The latest meeting of the Engineering Council's Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) was held on 20 April. The Committee considered the recent five year review of the Institute of Highway Engineers and agreed to renew its licence to assess members for professional registration for a further five years.

Interim reviews, which are usually conducted half way through a five year licence period, have been carried out for the Nuclear Institute and Institute of Water. These reviews were considered and approved by QAC. The meeting also re-approved the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE) as a Professional Affiliate of the Engineering Council for a further five years.

QAC also carried out a review of the Engineering Council’s Licensing Manual and Professional Affiliate Manual, which describes the process for professional engineering institutions to achieve and maintain their status as an Engineering Council Licensed Member or Professional Affiliate.
