New eBook provides guide to EngTech registration

Published: 23/10/2012

Following the successful introduction of the IEng eBook, the Engineering Council has now launched a similar definitive guide to Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration – the EngTech eBook.  The informative EngTech eBook is available to download from the Engineering Council’s website, at: www.engc.org.uk/ebook-engtech

The new eBook has been developed to assist in raising awareness and understanding of the value of EngTech registration.  It explains in a clear and concise manner why eligible individuals should aim to become EngTech registered and how to go about it. Four existing Engineering Technicians share their experiences with the reader and explain how professional registration has helped their careers.  There is also a page answering FAQs and a list of useful weblinks.

Both eBooks can easily be downloaded to and read on mobile devices or simply perused online.

Jon Prichard, CEO of the Engineering Council says:  “We have been very pleased with the positive response to the IEng eBook.  It was created as part of a campaign to raise the profile of Incorporated Engineer registration and increase recognition of its value to individuals, employers, the profession and society as a whole.  With the profession’s current focus on technicians we are sure that this new tool will provide the same benefits to those working to promote or indeed take the first steps towards EngTech registration.”
