Engineering Council
European Recognition
Professional engineers and engineering technicians who are registered with the Engineering Council can be recognised across the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) under Directive 2005/36: Recognition of Professional Qualifications (as amended by Directive 2013/55).
The amending Directive 2013/55 was adopted by the European Parliament and Council on 20 November 2013. The consolidated version of the Directive is the key reference document.
The Engineering Council is the United Kingdom National Member of the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI). The Engineering Council can submit accredited engineering education programmes to the European Engineering Education Database (EEED, previously the FEANI INDEX) and receive applications from individuals seeking European Engineer registration.
The Engineering Council is an authorised agency of the European Network for the Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) , which confirms that our accreditation standards are aligned to the EUR-ACE® Framework. Engineering Council accredited programmes are eligible for award of the EUR-ACE® label, which is increasingly recognised within and beyond Europe.

Working in the UK
